Kaqchikel

The Kaqchikel Mayans settled in Guatemala as early as 300 AD. In the 1600s, their stories and language were collected into a written history called the Kaqchikel Chronicles. Although the language is very old, Kaqchikel is still spoken by nearly 500,000 people in Guatemala! Some Guatemalan schools even teach students in Kaqchikel.

Our Kaqchikel course was created in 2017 by Langscape, a project of the University of Maryland.
