Denaakk’e, also known as Koyukon and Tł'eyegge Haakk'e (our language), is an Athabaskan language and the most geographically widespread Indigenous language in Alaska. Traditionally spoken across a vast region of the state's interior, it has three main dialects: Lower, Central, and Upper, each reflecting the communities where the language has been passed down through generations.
The Denaakk’e courses were developed through a partnership between the Doyon Foundation and the Yukon-Koyukuk School District, with the Conversational Denaakk’e course later expanding as part of the Doyon Languages Online project. Through vocabulary and everyday conversation, these courses help learners connect with the language and support its continued use for future generations.
